  3. SOME RESULTS IN A NUTSHELL

  5. NIS analysis has shown the presence of significant plasma flows in active region loops. Up-flowing plasma has reached 
  6. velocities of 100 km/s. A new feature was a strong high-velocity event located in the leg of an active-region loop thus 
  7. being a challenge to theoretical models causing a re-examination of the contribution from explosive events to coronal 
  8. heating.

  10. The right panel in animation (upper right corner) shows the line profile from different sections of the loop seen in the 
  11. left panel. The shift of the spectral line is shown on a velocity scale in the top right panel. This clearly illustrates the 
  12. strength of the CDS instrument which retains the spectral information in the images.
